Learning Units:
Reading - Fiction - We will continue reading Geronimo Stilton as a class. Students will complete a packet that includes comprehension questions for each chapter, as well as understanding figurative language and author’s point of view. In reading groups we are working on MAP test preparation. This includes following directions, rereading, and proving with evidence.
Writing - I am Lucky because… - Students will finish their writing piece that includes why they are lucky. Students will go through the writing process - prewriting, drafting, revising, editing, and publishing.
Math - Measurement- Students will begin Unit 6 which covers measurement. This will include measuring in inches, liquid volume, and telling time. We will continue Rocket Math in class. Please be sure to help your child with multiplication and/or division facts at home or in the car.
Social Studies - Economics - Students are working on brainstorming business ideas, and how to budget. They have been fun to listen to thus far! We have students that want to create goods, as well as students who want to provide a service.
Health - Personal Health and Illness- Students will explore the importance of personal health, and how to handle different illnesses and diseases.
