Learning Units:
Reading - Text Based Evidence - Students will be reading in reading groups at their instructional level with fiction books. We will work on vocabulary using context clues, figurative language, and using text evidence to support answers. As a class, we will finish the chapter book Chocolate Touch! Overall, students have had a hard time going back to the text to prove their understanding, writing in complete sentences, and spelling the words correctly.
Writing - Research - In honor of Black History Month, students have chosen to research an influential black historian. Students have started sharing their google slide presentations today and will continue next week!
Math - Geometry- Students will continue Unit 7 which covers geometry. In this unit, students will investigate two-dimensional shapes and perimeter. They will have to describe attributes of many different quadrilaterls. We will still practice multiplication fluency daily!
Agriculture - Poultry - Last week students learned about pork. Next week students will learn about poultry and dissect an egg!
Health - Healthy Coping Strategies- Students will explore different types of coping strategies when dealing with stress. They will also be able to explain some ways to help others.
