Learning Units:
Reading - Poetry & Short Passages- We will read several poems and short stories as a class. Students will complete comprehension questions, as well as figurative language and author’s point of view. In reading groups we are working on MAP test preparation. This includes following directions, rereading, and proving with evidence.
Writing - Poetry - Students will continue Poetry next week. We will be going through several genres of poetry, learning about the types, comprehending the author’s figurative language, and writing our own!
Writing & History - The Louisiana Purchase - Students will work on a packet about the history of The Louisiana Purchase, having both a digital resource and a paper resource. Students will be able to use reading and writing skills to learn about the history.
Math - Solving Multistep Problems- Students will review steps to solve multi step story problems. This will include the use of all four operations. We will continue Rocket Math in class. Please be sure to help your child with multiplication and/or division facts at home or in the car.
Social Studies - Economics - Students will share their Business slides next week. They have been fun to listen to thus far! We have students that want to create goods, as well as students who want to provide a service.
